Another First For the National Association of Tower Erectors!
Several years ago the NATE Membership Committee recommended to the Board of Directors that a new category be added for “Retired Members”. The goal was to provide an avenue for industry professionals to remain involved with NATE after they had retired. It is a win-win situation, the NATE Membership as a whole benefits from the experience and knowledge of Retired Members; and the Retired Members can keep in touch with the friendships they have formed over their career with other NATE Members and keep abreast of industry issues through Tower Times magazine.
As the Baby Boomer generation nears retirement, we encourage NATE Members to consider becoming a “Retired NATE Member” and keep involved in the communications and broadcast industry.
On behalf of the NATE Staff it is my pleasure to announce our first Retired Member, Robert F. Deane, M.D. or “Dr. Bob” as his friends call him; and he would like NATE Members to call him Dr. Bob as well.

A current resident of Beaufort, South Carolina, Dr. Bob’s Membership was sponsored by Pat Cipov of Cipov Enterprises, Inc., located in Sumter, South Carolina.
Dr. Bob was a Pathologist in California for over 30 years before beginning his second career as a Project Manager with BellSouth in South Carolina. During his 17 years with BellSouth, Dr. Bob oversaw projects based in North and South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
In 1997 Dr. Bob officially retired from BellSouth, but has continued their relationship as a consultant on various projects during the past 11 years. NATE Members may extend Dr. Bob a warm welcome by calling 843-592-2216 or via email at rdeane@islc.net.

Tim Rajkowski, owner of Tower 2000, formerly known as Tim’s Tower Service and a NATE Founding Member, sold his company and officially retired on January 18, 2008.
Since NATE’s inception, Tim has been an active member, sponsoring numerous NATE Annual Conference & Expositions, a NATE/OSHA National Partner, encouraged his employees to serve on committees, and he himself served on the Trade Show Committee. The new owners have changed the company name to Tim’s Tower 2000 and Tim is currently working during the transition of ownership.
After working in the industry for over 35 years, Tim wanted to continue to be a part of the Association; therefore, on March 31 he joined NATE as a Retired Member. Tim will continue residing in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, and enjoy a well-deserved lighter schedule.
